#GHANA #COVID-19: IKXANO RESOURCE ALLOCATION MODEL (iRAM) FOR REGIONAL RESOURCE DISTRIBUTION

In the advent of a pandemic like #COVID19, government and institutions have to be agile at the methods employed in allocating essential commodities and infrastructure such as health kits and personal protective equipment (PPE) to communities.

The above calls for the need to employ technological and data-driven methodologies in making optimal resource allocation decisions.

IKXANO took up the challenge of formulating optimization models with an objective function of maximizing resources while constraining model by the population density, population to healthcare facilities & healthcare personnel data and other vulnerability indices developed for different regions of Ghana.

The maps below show the Ghana Regional Vulnerability Index (GRVI) developed by #Inkauxano (https://www.inkauxano.com/post/ghana-covid19-regional-vulnerability-index-ikxano) with an optimal, non-optimal and a consolidated candidate model output for resource allocation for the COVID19 pandemic scenario.

The team at IKXANO will be updating the model with additional features in the future model.
